The fifth edition of the competition by the Luxembourg Guitar Festival, aimed at young guitarists from Luxembourg, will take place at the Cultural Center Bonnevoie – 2 Rue des Ardennes L-1133 Luxembourg – on Saturday 2nd May and Sunday 3rd May 2026.

 

Categories

 

1st Category (Junior)  – born in 2015 and younger.
Program: up to 3 minutes of a free choice program.

2nd Category – born in 2013 and younger.
Program: up to 6 minutes of a free choice program featuring at least two different styles/epochs.

​

3rd Category – born in 2011 and younger.
Program: up to 9 minutes of a free choice program featuring at least two different styles/epochs.

4th Category –  born in 2008 and younger.
Program: up to 12 minutes of a free choice program featuring at least two different styles/epochs.

​

5th Category – born in 2005 and younger.
Program: from 12 up to 15 minutes of a free choice program featuring at least two different styles/epochs.

 

The artistic direction of the festival can also accept candidates that exceed the age limit to present themselves in this category, but without the right to get one of the 3 money prizes. They'll only receive a certificate.

Awards

​

1st Category (Junior):

Certificate for every competitor (Golden, Silver and Bronze certificate) and gift.

 

2nd to 5th Categories: 

1st, 2nd and 3rd place money prize (150, 100 and 50 EUR)

Certificate for every competitor (Golden, Silver and Bronze certificate) and gift.

First place winners in the categories 2 to 5 will play one piece at the awards ceremony on Sunday 17th May at the Salle de musique de chambre of the Philharmonie Luxembourg.
